Three short conversation questions, every weekday. One to spark imagination, one to build problem-solving, one to grow kindness. No screens, no scrolling, no "how was school?" silence — just something real to talk about at the table.
One from each kind of thinking, handed to you so dinner conversation just happens.
Warm up everyone's thinking. Lots of answers, no wrong ones.
Creative and critical thinking. Real or imaginative ideas equally welcome.
Gentle prompts that build empathy and emotional intelligence.
The questions aren't mine. They were written by Virginia McDonald, M.Ed. — who spent thirty-five years teaching gifted and talented students and ran her own preschool and enrichment center. They're the same prompts she used with children for decades.
She published them as a book first, back in 2017. My part was building the app around them nine years later, so they'd reach more tables than one classroom at a time.
Family Huddles collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no data leaving the phone — ever. Apple's own privacy label on the listing reads "Data Not Collected," which is exactly the point. It's a calm space made for one family at a time.
It's free, it takes about five minutes a night, and it works from the very first question.
